Thank you for your patronage! Ever wonder what the perfect profile looks like? How you make your profile affects how, if, and when people will respond to you. Here are a few tips to make the best profiles.
Pictures
“A picture is worth a thousand words!” There is truth in that statement! When others can see a picture of you they can assess a general feeling about the person. Without a picture a person has to imagine what you look like and often can be ‘let down’ by the fact that you ‘weren’t what they were thinking of’. Who wants to compete with that? Be sure to post pictures that are candid and show you off for who you really are. Professional pictures can often work against you. We all like to look good but if your picture does not match the ‘perfect ness’ you display in your - paid professional picture – then again it could lead to a disappointment. We at Lebanese Matchmaker understand that pictures are not everything but are an important part of getting a conversation going.
Profiles
You may wish to leave out some details in your profile but remember that what you write is as important as your picture. It reflects your likes, what you are attracted too and what you are looking for. If you type something ‘nobody gets’ or something that is gibberish the person will often see you as that way. Is that really what you want? Remember, being honest is the best quality in writing – it speaks from your soul.
Boomerang
Remember that saying. “Whatever you put out will come back at you.” If you approach the site as a portal to meet someone you never might have met by chance and you are honest and upfront about whom you are, then the law of the universe says it will come back to you. Like finding shoes, you need to look in some stores, try a few of them on, see if they fit and feel comfortable with them.
Listen Up!
Hurrah for those who do this – but for those who don’t keep on reading. Often times I know people who sign up for dating sites never to go back in and look at the profiles of others. People more often than not think it’s ‘their place’ to sit back and let someone come wooing. Times have changed it’s up to everyone to put the effort into what they want. Go into a search database and send a flirt or just a few lines to someone. Don’t get caught up in ‘waiting’ for someone to reach out to you – get in there and give it a try reaching out to them. Even if you think ‘she/he will never want to talk to me’ you never know until you try! We really encourage everyone to actively seek what they are looking for. Just Common Sense
Be safe and always communicate through emails, chats and phone conversations before meeting anyone. If you feel it’s safe and comfortable, try meeting them for a drink with a friend. Or you can ask them out yourself. Wherever you decide to meet remember to always meet first in a public place so that you can then rely on your own judgments about further communication with the person.
